Schools & Young Peoples Network
Schools as a setting for health promotion has grown enormously over the
past years, and as a result members of CNG have joined forces to develop a
network for sharing good practice and exchanging information.
The functions of the network include:
- Discussing issues around the School Meals Agenda e.g. Turning the Tables in England, and, Hungry for Success in Scotland.
- Exchanging information about projects and outcomes.
- Review and dissemination of teaching resources and materials.
- Update on the Healthy Eating component of the National Healthy School
Standard, and the Food in Schools Programme. - Provide a source of consultation to outside organisations.
- Schools Nutrition Network Listserv.
Email the Schools & Young Peoples Network Co-ordinator, Carol Weir for more information.
If you would like the schools nutrition network to be more active, for
example, producing a newsletter, or organising events, please email the
coordinator with your suggestions.
